Nike has released the LeBron 8 PS last April as the culmination of their popular LeBron 8 basketball shoes series. Created just in time for the NBA Playoffs, this would be the kick of choice by LeBron James as he goes head on with the rest of the Miami Heat in pursuit of the 2011 NBA Championship. This latest incarnation will come with all sorts of colors. But one of the most anticipated of all the color combinations is the colorway that seemed to be a tradition of sorts to LeBron shoes. It is the Dunkman series that spells great news for all sneaker fans. There will be a LeBron 8 PS Dunkman. And well, this for sure won’t disappoint.
First stop, what exactly is the hype about the Dunkman series. Well, the Dunkman is a colorway in the LeBron James shoe line wherein the colors gray and “Mean Green”, a shade of neon green, is the predominant color of the shoes. Also, the Dunkman, a logo based on the silhouette in LeBron James’ first dunk in the NBA, is included at least somewhere in the shoe. At first, it started as a “player edition” shoes, meaning it is a colorway that only James (and perhaps a few associates) has ever worn. Only few pairs are made of these colors and are never made for sale to the public. However, perhaps due to public demand, the Dunkman colorway has made it into production in some of the various LeBron shoes, with limited numbers being sold to the public. And now, this silver and green color combination is making its way to the latest iteration of the LeBron series, dubbed as the LeBron 8 PS Dunkman Edition.
The Nike Air Max LeBron 8 PS Dunkman Edition may not be the best Dunkman variant of all time for some sneaker heads, but it has to be up there. The use of colors was just perfect. The flashiness of the “Mean Green” neon is in full effect here, and is accentuated further by the silver base. The base is both unique and eye-catching, as the silver used is of a metallic shade. In fact, it looks like the shoe has been chromed out. These shades of chrome and neon create a visually striking image for the shoe even when being viewed from afar. To conclude, the Dunkman LeBron 8 PS may be one of the best interpretations of the Dunkman colorway, and will go down as one of the more interesting colorways ever incorporated in a LeBron shoe, whatever the model type is.
